Cleaning & Maintenance

Our knives are handmade to last a lifetime, so here are a few tips to help you get the most out of it :

  • no dishwashers (really not).
  • no prolonged contact with water, for example, don't leave it to soak in your sink.
  • clean with washing-up liquid and a soft sponge after use and dry promptly.
  • store in a dry place, protected from other utensils, to avoid scratching and dulling your blade (or in one of our knife pouches).
  • sharpen regularly: a good test is to check that the knife doesn't slip on the skin of a tomato.
  • once a year, after cleaning, apply a thin layer of edible oil to the blade and handle (grapeseed ideally, or sunflower).
